[ Weiss didn't notice that it wasn't her bed right away. Being in a new home made everything feel different, so the comfort level of the bed, the way the pillows were arranged? They weren't exactly alerting Weiss to the possibility that she wasn't in blankety Kansas anymore.
The teleportation from her bed to the next was smooth enough that she hadn't even noticed it. Add on the stress of the past few weeks and how late she got to bed last night? It's little wonder that when she rolled her forehead against Jaune, she just muttered a few quick words before trying to go back to sleep. ]
[Jaune was enjoying a blissful sleep, helped by his new bed, which made him feel safer and more at home with its...classy design. There was just something comforting about it.]
[But he wasn't used to there being sudden bodies next to him. He smiled in his sleep, rolling over to hug her. This dream had gotten weird but he could roll with it.]
[ While the arm around her waist had been something that she could've written off if her dreams had let her think that she was in the arms of her ex, the voice was not. That voice was decidedly not her former boyfriend, nor was it her tiny dog.
Weiss froze where she was, stiffening her body a little bit and slowly opening her eyes.
She could start screaming. She wanted to yell at him right here and there because somehow this was his fault that she was laying in bed with Jaune Arc wearing nothing but a pair of panties and a nightgown and his arms were wrapped around her. This was clearly his fault and all she could see was his chest because of how he was hugging her so she hadn't quite had the fun of realizing that she was the one in the wrong place yet.
But no matter what, she couldn't start yelling. BEcause then someone would find out that she woke up to Jaune's arms wrapped around her and she wasn't going to let that happen without fighting tooth and nail to prevent it. Weiss moved her arm to jab her finger into Jaune's stomach to try to wake him up. ]
Jaune if you don't get up now I swear I'll-!
[ Uhg, she was raising her voice. She had to stop. She had to glare him to death and keep poking him. A pillow with some Aura poured into it would do the trick if he didn't get up in less than 3 seconds. ]
[This sword was warm. Jaune didn't exactly mind it, and dreams weren't supposed to make sense. He remained happily ignorant until an army of fish appeared and began poking him repeatedly.]
Ow!
[It might have been loud, but fortunately his voice was muffled from him being asleep. He opened his eyes, still in that hazy space between dreams and being awake. That's when he realized the presence of someone. Someone talking to him. Someone who wasn't happy with him and Weiss.]
What--
[He jumped back, fully awake, and sat up before he tilted too far and fell off the bed with a loud 'thump'. If Weiss hadn't been loud, he had. But he wasn't even worried about that.]
[ As soon as Jaune let her go, Weiss sat up, her legs off to one side. For the briefest of moments, her thigh was showing as she did, her bare shoulder visible as her night gown was off to one side from the disheveling that occurred rolling from one floor to the next. She quickly fixed it, straightening her clothes and pulling her legs beneath her so that her night gown fully covered past her knees.
And she glared.
She didn't say anything though.
Mostly because she realized there were rabbits to her left.
This wasn't her bed. This was Jaune's bed. Weiss was in Jaune's bed. So even as her mouth hang open as if she wanted to say something, she was at a complete loss of words. ]
There is no way I sleep walked in here, so I'm assuming you've somehow perfected the art of kidnapping without waking someone up.
[Oh that sure was Weiss in a night gown showing more skin than he'd ever seen her reveal. He gawked, unintentionally, but he kept staring, making unintelligible noises until she moved after what felt like hours instead of a few seconds.
It still took him longer to recover than normal. Even Weiss' trademark glare wasn't enough to fully snap him out of it. He blinked, feeling warmer than usual, and fixed his gaze to one of the bed's legs until she spoke.]
So you...didn't come here on your own?
[Probably not the best thing to ask.]
I mean-- I wouldn't kidnap you and if I was planning to which I wasn't I wouldn't choose a location that you knew about.
Did you sleepwalk drug me too? I've been an incredibly light sleeper for almost a year now.
[ Another reason why she wanted her own floor instead of her own room. Do you know how hard it is to sleep with 8 other people in the house when you have issues sleeping as is? ]
Besides, I don't think you're that much of a creep. If you're the one kidnapping me I've definitely not been upsetting enough actual criminals.
[ She's.. definitely straightening her dress now, this is. really awkward. Jaune why is this happening? ]
..You hugged me. [ Let's just acknowledge that that happened. ] You hugged me, in your bed.
Probably not. You being a light sleeper explains...a lot.
[Why only a year? Why such a specific amount of time? He's wide awake by now, so he frowns.]
You think I'm a creep?
[Okay, fair point he had been obnoxious. His eyes definitely stray a little by the movement but he glances away until she speaks again.]
I was dreaming. And I wasn't dreaming about hugging you. Besides, friends can hug eachother. Just...not like that, but again, I didn't expect you to be in my bed.
[ it probably has something to do with the faded scar on her left hand, far more visible now that shes obly wearing short sleeves. Definitely not something she had back home, even if its clearly Torchwick's symbol. ]
Well.. no. You didn't actually kidnap me, so I doubt it.
I thought- I mean, it wasn't terrible but it's not happening again.
I wouldn't kidnap you. And don't say that, it makes it sound like you go out of your way to upset criminals and that's...you don't need to do that.
[He kind of gives a defeated shrug.] I figured you'd say something like that. [His gaze drifts down a little when he notices her hand.] Weiss, did you spill some--
Of course I do. It's literally my job to upset criminals and to be good enough at my job to handle it anyway.
[ Weiss almost asks what he expected her to say. It isnt like any norn mal person would suddenly say sure, spooning between friends is dandy. But she doesnt get it out. She knows what Jaune means when his eyes fall downward. Weiss puts her right hand over the scar to cover it. ]
Torchwick was here before. About a year ago, he murdered Blake and kidnapped me after a man named Kefka gave him significant power. He kept me in one of Fayren's sewers for 11 days with no food, just enough water to keep me alive, and my he made sure I couldn't recover my aura. Katara, Mayu, and Zuko helped me get the function back in my hand, I'm fine now. It's just another scar, Jaune.
Okay, I can see your point when you put it that way. I kinda just imagined you going up to criminals and kicking them in the shins or whatever would upset them.
[He spoke without thinking again. But before he can feel bad about that, he listens to Weiss' much more horrifying story. He can't decide whether to be outraged, scared or sad.]
Blake and you...
I'm sorry, Weiss. I had no idea... I hope he never comes back. But if he does, he'll have to pay.
I just meant that if you're the worst kidnapper I'm dealing with now, I'm clearly not making as much of an impact as I should be.
[ She holds her wrist out so he can see it better, even look at it in detail if he wants. It looks like it was cut over and over again so that it would definitely leave a scar, some levels of the scars looking more or less healed than others. ]
This is just a reminder that even when I couldn't lift Myrtenaster on my own, I found a way and I always will as long as I don't try to fight alone. If you want to have my back if he steps foot in this place again, so long as you're not going to be a liability, I'll gladly accept the help.
[ It's obvious she's grown up in a lot more ways than that since he last saw her, too. Even if she reflexively fell back into a lot of old habits the second Jaune showed up.. ]
That, or they're just so impressed by you they don't want to challenge you because they know they'd lose.
[He doesn't know a lot about how injuries work, but even he can tell that an injury like this would cause long-term damage. And it wasn't just an injury, it was a form of torture. That's the most upsetting part. He finally steps back.]
You're strong. I don't think anyone could stop you. [When he had first arrived at Beacon, he might have taken her words personally, determined to prove her wrong. He remains the latter, and meets her eyes, nodding.] I'll always have your back. And I'm sure the others will too. You don't need to try to fight alone because you're not alone.
Well I'd hope that's the case, but I somewhat doubt it.
[ It definitely was and she certainly wouldn't be so calm about it if she hadn't. It took a water bender to help undo the nerve damage that had been done, making most of the remaining damage more topical than anything. ]
..As long as it's not literally.
[ The rabbit bed was still the awkward elephant in the room, even if it was just Weiss's attempt to try to make this whole thing less serious.
Or maybe right now the city just has really incompetent kidnappers.
[He's just glad Weiss didn't slam his own door in his face and yell at him when she woke up. He'll try to throw in some awkward jokes too, if it will somehow make this easier to deal with.]
You'd prefer it if I don't catch you if you ever end up falling from really high up again? Okay, I'm sure Ruby can handle that.
[He likes his bed. It was the last one they had, he's so proud.]
[ she didn't.. even realize. This wouldn't even have seemed awkward if they weren't still standing next to his bed. Weiss suddenly looks irritated, her pitch and volume both raising. ]
Your first thought wouldn't be on the battlefield if we were on the battlefield.
[ She narrows her eyes a little, but.. honestly, she's blushing. Who wouldn't if they were having their words twisted like that while only wearing a nightgown after the day they've had? ]

Weiss slips off the bed, looking around his room confusedly. ]
I have no idea how I got here if you didn't do it.
