I just checked. She's not in my contact list anymore, so unless she found a way to go off the grid... it's likely.
It does matter. If you can't trust your own teammates, if you don't care about them, it becomes easier to make decisions that puts them at risk for the greater good. I don't want us to become a team that puts each other at risk. I want us to be a team that doesn't leave anyone behind. So yes, it matters.
[That's all he has to say. He isn't sure what to say at this point. People keep leaving, but as far as he's aware, Robin didn't go through anything horrible while she was here. He felt worse for Weiss than anything else.]
No offense Weiss, but with the exception of Nora, none of them strike me as the kind of people to worry about putting their teammates at risk. Saber seems too practical. Artanis isn't human so I don't even know what he values, and Satsuki...
Satsuki only cares about the greater good. I'm not sure if it's yours. I'm okay with that, because it's not about me or them. It's about your city.
[ that's ok you don't have to be willing if she makes it a work assignment.
The door automatically opens when he's at it and he can see her working on a little hologram tablet to fill out different reports. She's got headphones on and doesn't look like she noticed him. If it was someone who wasn't supposed to be here, there'd be all kinds of things to alert her. Jaune 'belonged.' ]
It's actually necessary, yes. And I plan on doing a chunk of these, but not all of them. I'm hoping to head over to Attleton tonight and let Artanis take over here. You're welcome if you'd like to come with.
Okay, what's the most recent crime you dealt with today?
[ she's not sure she trusts him to do a report properly but she'll give him an easy one that's current if he wants to try and prove himself. he's at least earned the right with her to try to prove himself with anything but bar tricks and music. ]
Remember that club we were talking about with Dave that's also a movie that we're not supposed to talk about as per the first rule of the aforementioned club?
My most recent was a theft that was happening when I got there. I think it was around 3:14? And it was at this clothing store, the kind you would probably shop at. Anyway, I caught her and apparently she had been stealing from that store for a while.
[He takes a sip of his coffee...whatever it even is, waiting in trepidation. Did he do it right? He wants to prove himself.]
[ She holds out a little hologram projector for him to get started on. ]
I want you to flesh that out by answering the following: Type of theft, name of suspect, time of encounter and duration of encounter, details about any damage done during the course of the arrest, if there was security footage in the show- and if there was, use it to narrow your times down more precisely, list all items that the suspect had attempted to steal, collect an inventory of previously lost items to the thief from the store owners. Include anything she may have said or done that incriminated her beyond being present. Include a list of witnesses and damages and whether the damages were done by you or other members of this office in the pursuit of justice or if they were done by the culprit. Use the hologram keyboard to type it up and sign your statement at the bottom with your signature, written name, and position as Deputy Guardian. The police will have a lot of that information from their follow-up investigation, so you may want to start by speaking to them to fill in the answers to any of those questions you don't already know. From here on out if you want to help with reports, though, I'd prefer to have your personal take because if there are inconsistencies between the people I trust and a hackable robotic force as much as I would like to believe they're secure? I want to know about it.
[ No Ironwood repeats on her watch if she can help it. ]
Why do you think I'm stuck in here all day sometimes?
[ Because she's afraid Jaune's reports are going to end up looking exactly like he's writing them. ]
You can't use your aura to heal or prevent injuries-- you can turn back on afterward to heal up but you can't heal during the battle. If you aren't afraid of that, I'll take you.
Paperwork. But I didn't think it would have to be this detailed.
I'm not afraid. [It's a lie, but he didn't know about aura most of his life. He can go without it for a couple of hours if Weiss can.] But I don't understand. Why can't we use aura?
All of the arrests we make go to court. If there are inconsistencies between what we see and what the police see, it gets questioned. Mistakes made can result in criminals getting off.
[ She wants to do things right. That's the way she's wanted to since things have started, the only exception being when she got incredibly emotional about Battler when Maribelle wanted to make sure he had a fair trial instead of just locking him up and throwing away the key. ]
It puts all the fighters on equal ground in terms of actually being able to beat each other. People who are invulnerable can't participate because there's no chance of them getting hurt. It's about making it a fair fight where anything could happen. These aren't life or death battles or to prove who is the strongest or training, it's just fighting for stress relief. You fight together and you follow the rules and you have a good time. For us we turn off our auras, for someone else they might not be allowed to use healing spells or regeneration until after the fight.
[ There's a brief pause before she adds. ] But if you want to think of it as a training exercise, it'll certainly help teach you how to dodge instead of relying on your aura to take the damage for you. It's made me a better fighter in general, and you see loads of different fighting styles besides your own. However..
There are rules and if you don't follow them, you won't be given the follow-up locations of the meetings.
Okay. No more missing details or wrong information. [He's not typing as fast now, but it looks like he's actually trying to focus and create an accurate picture of what happened. He doesn't want anyone, particularly anyone with the potential to be like Battler, to be allowed to continue to be a threat.]
There's a secret club that actually exists just to fight for fun? That's so cool. [He pauses, quiet for a moment as he fully absorbs her explanation.] Is that why sometimes you come home with bruises?

She seemed nice.
But it's like I said. First impressions, and my opinion don't matter.

This is exactly why we need to do this.

Do what?

I'll tell you later. I need to flesh it out first.

I just don't want to get to that point. It's better this way.
That doesn't sound bad at all.

[It's easier to agree than go into detail about how he's unwilling to do that. He doesn't text her again until he's at her office, waiting to enter.]

Jaune steps in, waving at first before texting her once more:]
I'm here.
[He's already making himself comfortable. He's probably been here multiple times by now and just does what he wants.]
Re: action;
Sorry, it helps me concentrate if I can't hear the rest of the world.
action;
I'd probably feel that way if I tried to pay attention. Especially with Nora.

[ Or just so coffee-addled that it's hard to get the rush from a normal amount? ]
action;
[It's probably a combination of his reasoning, and the second option.]
If anyone is planning anything it's you. Doing all your weird paperwork that's supposedly necessary.

Fight Club.

That's-- That's fine! This is fine. It's just recording what I saw and doing some research. I said I'd do it.
[He starts typing in things like:
Type of theft: THeivery and steal
Details regarding damage: She hit som things down and ar window was broken]
And you do this with every report? That has to be time consuming.
[He stops typing, glancing up.] There's an actual Fight Club?
