[ She seems a little relieved when he slows down. She's sure he'll speed up again once he gets the hang of it, but for now, it just shows that he's taking care while he does it. ]
Yes, that's why. I'm surprised no one asked about them until now, honestly.
This is the last time we're talking about this if we're not physically at Fight Club, by the way. That's because both the first and second rules are that you do not talk about Fight club. It's not something just anyone can come to, it's a place for like-minded individuals who just want to enjoy themselves. The third rule regards consent: The second someone says stop, goes limp, or taps out, the fight is over. Rules 4 and 5: Only two people to a fight, one fight at a time. Fight Club doesn't tolerate unfair fights, so that means ganging up on anyone is against the rules. The fights are important, so if you're not one of the two fighting, you respect the two who are and watch them- learn from them, and enjoy the show. The next rule is the one I already mentioned- no immortality, no invulnerability, no armor. You defend with your body and your body alone. Rule the seventh is that the fights go on as long as they have to. There's no time limit, they only stop for the reasons stated in the third rule. Or.. probably in case of an emergency, but I'm sure the fight would continue at the next meeting instead of being stopped. Anyway, the eight rule is that you have to fight on your first night at fight club. You can go to watch in other meetings, but the first one you go to you don't have a choice. The 9th rule allows weapons as long as they are not massively destructive, as that would violate the 10th rule not to damage the property that the club is meeting at. And lastly, as long as you're willing to follow the rules, you're allowed at Fight Club. It doesn't matter who you are or what your history is, so you have to be prepared for the possibility that someone you don't like shows up.
Don't laugh, but part of me thought maybe you were doing some super secret superhero stuff. I was worried. I know you can handle it, but bruises aren't really normal for us. Turning off your aura makes way more sense though.
[He stops typing so that he can pay full attention to what she's saying without multitasking. Someone obviously put a lot of thought into this. He's also imagining Weiss boxing, which is kind of an odd image compared to her usual fighting style.] Do we get to choose who we fight on our first night? Or is it random? [He shakes his head and scoffs.] Like that stuck-up, pristine and pretentious acting Satsuki would go to Fight Club. I think keeping that kind of secret would destroy her.
I don't need to do that secretly, it's my actual job.
[ she shrugged. ]
Either you challenge someone they challenge you. I've seen Mercury there before, a while back. Though you're right, I think Satsuki would lecture me if she found out.
True. But it's still more realistic than imagining there's a secret club with a more secret purpose that has a bunch of rules and people involved in it.
[He's frowning very deeply now. He had been thinking of people he disliked, not terrible people.] Did he challenge you?
It's more realistic than imagining a bunch of people want to fight for fun in secret?
[ She shakes her head. ] The only time I've really.. engaged him in a fight was back when I was first doing tryouts for security and he went too far with someone who was already down, so I intervened. He stopped after I did though. That was.. before I knew who he was.
Easy. There are a ton of overpowered people who would just want to fight to prove they're the strongest, if it's a secret the only people who can come are those who agree to the rules, it's not about training or a goal so it's just about enjoying the fight, and since there are rules against healing you know some people would get upset about people getting hurt even if it's entirely willing. I can go on.
[ She nods, squinting a little when he does that. ] That's right, but are you okay? [ Don't drop your coffee, Jaune, you're more coordinated than to ruin her carpet.. she hopes. ]
Exactly. Besides, if you're there, you know at least one person wants you there. It doesn't matter if you're scum or the Guardian or the average Joe. If no one wants you there, you just don't get invited so everyone belongs.
It was formed around the time I joined, so I was just one of the first members when it started. You won't know the name of the guy who started it though, he's long since been gone.
You should probably dump it out and drink some water.
[ She nods, looking concerned. No wonder his skin was so dry all the time. ] Yes, it dehydrates you. Why do you think you still feel thirsty if you have more than 12 ounces?
He used to run a dojo on the mountain top too, you can't miss him.
Jaune, tomorrow morning, I want you to eat something small for breakfast like a piece of fruit with a 6 ounce cup of coffee and an 8 ounce glass of water. You'll be far more awake from that than just downing a ton of coffee since dehydration makes you even more tired.
Suddenly him running Fight Club makes a lot more sense.
But that's more fruit and water than coffee. [Makes a face.] Fine, but I'm putting the fruit stuff in the water and probably adding something that's...not fruit. Unless it's fruit pancakes.

And then he just got more disgusting when he showed the kind of person he really is. [Holds his coffee up, nearly drops it. Stops and drinks it.]

I'm fine. Why do you ask? [He's enjoying his delicious coffee. As long as his coffee is okay, he is okay.
Or as okay as they can be.]
Re: action;
You almost dropped your coffee.
action;
Almost. But I didn't. It's just...it's a lot of coffee. To be perfectly honest, I'm kind of regretting trying to drink it in the first place.
action;
You should probably dump it out and drink some water.
action;
I can't do that! Coffee is water.
Re: action;
Taylor thinks. It's been so long Taylor's not sure anymore.]Coffee is water that's absorbed a bunch of caffeine and oils from beans that dehydrates you. You should always drink water with coffee, Jaune.
action;
Wait. Coffee actually dehydrates you? I thought it hydrated you. This is the first time I've heard this.

[The lack of sleep, bad habits and lack of water probably doesn't help.] Because I need more coffee?

Jaune, you know caffeine works better on a stomach with not much besides water and a started metabolism, right? Just trust me.
