He could. I can't. I infused Dust with my nail polish once to try it for this holiday called Halloween, when you can dress up as anything or anyone you want. I dressed up as a Fire Nation citizen and used some Dust and red nail polish so it would ignite when I scratched the polish.

[ Getting it off was a pain and she had to protect her fingers with her aura, but it was so worth it. ]

Okay, but I didn't know the Arc was there or I wouldn't have let her be okay with Joan.

[ Weiss is just crossing her arms now because Jaune's getting all the attention. ]

Halloween? [He looks impressed.] That's pretty creative of you. I'm sure he enjoyed that. Did you burn anything down?

I think you're just upset that Joan is such a admirable name that it suits this majestic puppy.

It's a holiday during which everyone dresses up as whatever they want and just has fun. The barriers between the world of the living and the world of the dead are supposedly overlapped on October 31st, which is why the holiday was brought around. Wearing the costumes helps them feel welcome, calmed, and appeased so they don't go and destroy everything. I'm not sure how much of that is actually true, but it's a holiday that exists in a lot of peoples' worlds here and it's definitely fun. [ She shakes her head. ] Even if I would've had an accident, he could've bent the fire so I felt perfectly safe.

[ She rolls her eyes. ] I named her Joan, I'm not upset I named her that. I'm upset that I didn't do the proper research before naming her to find out just what she would evolve into when exposed to a Fire Stone. Also the fact that there's no way you're not going to let this go to your head.

...Is it October yet? [Because this sounds incredibly fun, minus the dead returning part. Dressing up without being made fun of. He could wear a suit of armor.] You said you've been here two years though. Did you dress up the other year?

I'm not letting it go to my head because the name suits her and her...type? perfectly. It's not being delusional if it's true.

You've got about nine months unless I decide to throw a costume party anyway. [ A beat. ] Which isn't out of question. [ Uhh. Well. ] This last Halloween ended up in some kind of horror show where everyone's fears came to life. I dressed up as Yang at the Harvest Pet Adoption Festival a couple weeks later to make up for it though. I curled my hair and wore shorts instead of a skirt and everything.

Her type? She's a hot-headed dork of a puppy. [ .... ] Actually, no, you're right. I can see that.

There are absolutely no downsides to throwing a costume party. It will raise everyone's morale, you get to dress up and get lots compliments, I...get to dress up. I don't understand. Does it have something to do with this place and how it brings people here? [she's already in a nightgown and now she's talking about dressing as yang. he bets her hair looks nice curled.] Did you honor the bad puns too?

She's also tall. And protective!

No, they're just holidays. Trust me, I've looked into loads of holidays here. [ She shakes her head. ] I avoid trying when I'm actually around Blake and Yang now. Ruby laughs, but I think Yang is just possessive of them. Geraldi's Sunshine Pizza was totally my idea though. After a lot of people disappeared at the same time, Sun swung by work to cheer me up and I had the chef make him a pineapple pizza with the pineapple arranged like a sun and it's still on the menu to this day so I can't be that terrible at making them. [ Weiss tries. She does. ]

You and she have a similar expression if you use the n-o word, too.

That's too bad. You could have gotten really in character. [He smiles as he listens to her story, comprehension dawning on his face.] I get it! It's named Sunshine Pizza because it's shaped like a sun and Sun likes fruit!

My mom does say I have the most convincing puppy eyes.

I'm not a big fan of pretending to be anyone other than myself beyond dressing up. [ She nods. ] Right? It makes perfect sense. Sun for Sun.

Convincing as in they're like a puppy or that they work? Because I've yet to see the second one work. [ Actual puppies are much cuter. Than like everything to Weiss though. She's reaching for Joan's ears to pet them now. Joan looks super happy about it. ]

Because all a pun needs to do is make sense. I think it's a good pun.

Sometimes they do. It's more 50/50. [He deflates a little. Oh well, he's focusing on petting Joan now, petting her on the shoulders.]

Thank you. I bet Yang would just roll her eyes at it though.

How much is it if you take my complete immunity out of the equation? [ She's well aware that she's said no to Jaune far more than anyone else has about anything. AS for Joan? She's pretty sure she's getting a free massage session. ]

Only because she's jealous there isn't a pizza named after what's an art to her.

50/50...minus...what? 100? Or is it 50? That would be zero? Just so you know, I haven't even tried them on you yet. Mostly because I'm not used to talking to you face-to-face so much as through a door. [Joan is the one who wins in this situation.]

So they are only effective half the time and you haven't even tried them with me yet. Your numbers are going way down if you do.

[ It's at Weiss's level of puns, she can't even judge. For once in her life. ]

The ones you literally brought up before! You said your puppy face had a 50-50 chance of success. If you added my responses into that, those numbers would be significantly decreased. [ Maybe it's too early in the morning for math though. ]

Okay, we're going to end up leaving late if we keep petting Joan.

Ohhh those numbers. But if I used them with people other than you, they might increase again. The success rate with others could even out your response. [What is math.]

Okay, I'm confused. Who exactly have you even been using them with?

Weiss is getting the PokeBall back and Joan is going right into it. ]

No one, yet. I just meant if I did, I'd probably get results different from yours.

[No Joan come back to him. He reaches out, frowning sadly when she goes back in.]

Does the ball have windows for her to see out of?

Have you made puppy faces at anyone other than your mother? Because I'm fairly certain they don't count for anything if you haven't. [ Just sayin Jaune. Your mom isn't the worldwide judge of success. ]

I don't actually know. I'm not exactly friends with the only Pokemon around who can communicate in ways closer to our language.

[ Haha Mewtwo and her have had disagreements. ] I would assume so, they never seen surprised at what's going on and they don't seem to mind being in the balls.

I have with my sisters! When I've wanted something. And I'll have you know, it worked with some of them. [That counts, right? They're probably at least closer to their age.]

There's a talking Pokemon?! I mean a human talking one. Where? Are they as cool as Joan?

Wow. So it's like a magic dimension! [He clasps his hands, because that is just...really awesome. It reminds him of his comic books. After a moment, he glances down, then at Weiss.] I should probably go put on something other than pajamas.

[ She shakes her head. ] He's a jerk who doesn't like humans and thinks if you don't get your way, it's okay to steal until you do.

I'm just waiting on you to leave before I change into mine. [ She's already in her wardrobe. Didn't you notice the walls lined with clothes, Jaune? This big ass room is just her closet. 8'); ]

Okay but do you want me to go and try them on people who aren't my family?

[Now he just looks so confused.] Steal? Is this something where he stole from you before? [It sounds like it was personal.]

[And now he'll just let his surroundings sink in like he hadn't even noticed them before.] Ohhh. Let me go do that. Ice Queen. [He bows, giving a little wave over his shoulder as he walks out.

[ She's shuffling him out now, not giving further information than that. Byyyeee Jaune she'll see you soon once she's got like. Proper clothes like a bra and maybe a dress. ]

[Maybe a dress? Yawning a few times, Jaune mostly focuses on finding something to wear and making sure he doesn't...wear his shirt on the wrong side or anything. He settles for a pair of jeans and a blue hoodie because they're looking at cute animals not fighting Grimm or going on deadly field trips. He knocks on Weiss' door, waiting patiently and whispering for some reason.]

Weiss, I'm ready.

[ Weiss is takes a little longer to get ready than Jaune does. She's got some a dress on at least, but she's definitely still blowdrying her hair.

Unlike Jaune's whispering, she raises her voice more loudly than the dryer. It's a miracle she heard him even making noise, even if she didn't understand what he said. ]

I'll be out in a few minutes, just go ahead and wait in my room!
