[He stretches and sits back on his bed. It might be weird, but so is this whole situation.]

They're...better. She told me everything. I can't believe that all this time...I had no idea!

You're literally the only one who had no idea. Professor Oobleck probably knew.

[ This is working. They're not talking about Weiss being in bed with Jaune anymore, so literally anything is okay. Let's play Weiss's favorite game of make Jaune feel bad about his life choices by stating obvious facts. ]

Do you actually like her or are you just seeing where it takes you? Or are you two not dating?

[ Give her the deets, Jaune. ]

Really? Pyrrha's not exactly an open book. You should sit. I promise I won't hug you again like my favorite stuffed animal--that I didn't keep until it was time for him to go live with his stuffed animal family and that's not what really happened is it?

[He glances down to avoid her gaze. Part of him wonders why Weiss is suddenly so curious, but. He's used to this having 7 sisters, and she's opened up to him more lately.]

I care about Pyrrha. It's kind of confusing. I care about her a lot, and we've really bonded since we met. She's strong, beautiful, she could get any guy she wanted. I've never really considered dating her before because of that, so I guess it is kinda...new to me.

[whiteas]

[ Okay now she's just pouting. This is somehow more embarrassing to her. He thought she was a stuffed toy. She's so not sitting. ] You thought I was a stuffed animal that you put out to pasture.

[ Easy. 1. Weiss is a giant gossip. and 2. if he really liked Pyrrha that easily and forgot about Weiss it would just prove her right. His answer at least doesn't seem like he's just jumping on Pyrrha because he wants someone to care about him. ]

If you never considered dating her before because of that, why did you like me so much? I know I'm not on Pyrrha's combat level, but I'm fairly certain all of those other categories fit except that I obviously didn't like you and she was obviously flirting with you from the moment the three of us met.

[aurabble]

[He winces, ow his ego.] Would you rather I have thought it was you?

[Suddenly his hands are a lot more interesting. He frowns, torn between telling her, and sparing his dignity. If he had any to begin with.]

Come on, do I really have to answer that? I never saw that as flirting. I just thought she was being a friendly person.

That depends- what would you have done if you had thought it was me?

[ At least Weiss seems to have calmed down enough to go over to sit next to him on the edge of the bed, even if she's absolutely crossing her arms. ]

Anyone who actually wanted to be on Team Jaune when you were that desperately obvious to get my attention would have had to have been flirting with you. --Look, just make sure you actually like her before it gets beyond a couple of dates. She's obviously got a hard crush, and if you lead her on if you don't have feelings for her, you aren't going to be able to save a friendship afterward.

Nooot...definitely not hugged you. Why were you so close to me anyway?

[He's glad. It's easier to talk to her when she's not standing over him like she's judging him for all his decisions.]

Why would they be flirting? I mean, my good looks aside, I've got plenty of other great qualities to offer to a team. I'm not...I'm not trying to lead her on. I don't want to hurt her. Maybe that's not fair to her, but I like being around her, and I want to try. But she's level-headed, so I don't think she'd let something like that ruin it.

Zuko used to sneak in through my window to sleep with me at night. I woke up because I heard your voice, not him or Frost.

[ she likes feeling tall though it never happens. ]

But right then you were solsly focused on me. I didn't ask her to spear you because I enjoy a good spearing, you know. I know you wouldn't do it on purpose, but when you care about someone logic isn't the first part of your brain that reacts.

Did you leave your window open? Where did you get Frost anyway? I want one.

[Weiss is destined to be short.]

But you called me tall and blonde. I know. I've been there. I'll try to make it up to her. But it's nice that Pyrrha has you looking out for her like that.

Not at first. I told him off for it a lot but he did it anyway since he didn't have to share me if no one else knew he was there, he said. I found Frost at a pet adoption. Why not check out Whatevfur?

[ oops. Really? That was.. ]

I called you tall, blond, and scraggly while making fun of you and Ruby. Of course she does.

Smart. That's surprisingly sneaky of you to go with that. Sure. You wanna go?

[He glances down.]

But that's not the only reason. I've heard you sing, and that's when I--anyway! Thanks, Weiss.

[ Weiss listens to what he says, thinking quietly for a few seconds. They were.. getting along, so to speak. Even with this weird debacle. And she did love dogs. And he was dating Pyrrha now so it's not like she'd have to worry about him trying to get with her or anything. ]

Alright, I'll go. I know the owner, I helped her put on a Pet Adoption Festival in November. I can probably help you get some discounts if you find one you like. Just promise you'll keep it away from Blake's side of the house, she has enough trouble with Frost and Zwei.

[He looks surprised at first to hear she even agreed to it, but he beams.]

Great, we can look at all the puppies! I promise my potential dog whose name is not yet decided will not go anywhere near Blake's side of the house. And as an Arc, I'll keep that promise.

I'll get some treats for Frost and J while we're there.

[ SHE'S JUST GOING TO CALL HER J WHILE NOT IN HER PRESENCE. Joan won't respond to anything but Joan, but as long as Jaune doesn't find out it's okay, right? Right. ]

When? If we go before I have to go to the office, we can do it today.

I didn't know you had two dogs.

[J is a really short name but he doesn't question it.]

Now's--today is fine. When does it open? Or is it one of those 24/7 places?

J's a little... big to wander around the house all the time. I can go get her if you want to meet her. I get the feeling you two will get along well.

[ All of her stuff was in her room, it wasn't like she could tell what time it was. ]

Does she prefer being outside? I'm not going to say no to meeting your dog.

[He grabs his videophone from where he keeps it on his bed.] It's only 6:27. I'm surprised we haven't woken anyone up.

She's taller than you are, Jaune. I think. How tall are you? It's probably really close.

[ She's squinting. Arcanine is 6'3", she's not 100% sure how tall Jaune is. ]

Your people live with Nora and mine live with Ruby. I think we're all used to a little noise. If we start getting ready now we can probably leave around 8.

Ohhh, so she's one of those! Cute. Last time I checked, I was 6'1". But I'm sure I look a lot taller to you.

[He'd pose, but he's sitting, so he just tries to look nonchalant about it.]

[ Weiss, without your heels he's more than a foot taller than you.. ]

Jo-J? I thought her name was J. And yeah, we should see her first.

Eis has at least two feet on Joan. I'm used to it. [ Okay, she'll just. Say what it is. ] Which, by the way? Is the only thing she'll respond to.

[ Weiss gets up and starts heading toward her staircase. Congrats, Jaune. You've been invited to Weisstopia. ]

Is Eis another do--Joan? [He narrows his eyes.] You named her Joan. Out of all the names out there, you chose that one?

[Wow this is like VIP stuff. He pauses at first, still surprised she's actually letting him before he bothers to follow.]

Eis is a big shelled sea.. thing. You know that myth from Mistral about the Bog Mess Monster? [ Trying to explain what a Lapras was was much harder than Growlithe/Arcanine = giant dog. ] I was just saying names and she liked that one and she was a Growlithe back then and I had no idea what she would evolve into and I regret everything.

[ Whatever, her room is bigger than his so there's more room for Joan to not catch things on fire. ]

Is that where it's from? Didn't the monster fall in love with some guy and sacrificed its voice to be with him? How would Eis fit in your room? I--evolve? You're not making any sense. All I know is, you named your dog after me. I'm not sure how to take it but I'll go with pretending it's a compliment.
