Thank you for noticing. I couldn't have managed as Guardian if I were still at the same level I was as a student.

[They both are. Winter doesn't feel particularly threatened by the notion of someone so naive becoming a guardian, but she remains displeased that such a pointless stir occurred at all.]

Perhaps after my current students have completed their training course, you could accompany me on one of my assignments. I should like to see how much you've progressed since the last time we met.

I'd like that, though hopefully time will permit. I may not be technically employed anymore, but I do have a few projects I'm going to be working on with the GSRF. I already talked to Sun about it, and I have a significant amount of savings from selling a mansion a couple of months ago and I've been doing bounties in the meantime to keep my skills sharp...

Then perhaps I'll pay a visit to the GSRF. I'm interested in learning what you've managed to uncover about this place.

Of course. I'll admit I don't understand all of the specifics, but that's what the scientists are for. I work with them to get it in layman's terms until I get a "Technically yes, but" followed by an explanation about the technicalities no one is going to understand without an advanced degree in physics or medicine.

[ Science nerds are precious but she isn't going to pretend they communicate the "big ideas" well, which is where she comes in a lot of the time to summarize. ]

A necessary component indeed. It's much the same for me when dealing with the robotics department in Atlas.
