[Wait a minute. People vanished? And no one found that weird? No one??]
I think it's the same kind, but I'm just basing that on the reaction from my scanners so I might be wrong. I really don't know anything else about them; we had barriers back where I'm from but they were mass effect shields created by biotics, nothing like this. [He paces the room for a minute, trying to piece together the puzzle but failing.] I could take you there, yeah, but I'm not sure what good it would do.
[He frowns, thinking for a moment. No, he has to ask.]
Did the vanishing bodies really not raise any alarms? Usually if you kill something, it stays there, least where I'm from. [Please tell him he's not from the only place in the universe where corpses don't defy the laws of physics.]
Oh it does, but it's not exactly common enough that there's a public panic about it. There are some creatures from my world that dissolve upon death, so I didn't think it was that odd except that it wasn't just monsters who were doing it. The non-pendant wearers don't dissolve, only people who wear the pendants. It isn't as though we had any way to really figure out what was going on with that though. It isn't any weirder than the fact that blood tests indicate we're apparently all under 10 years old or that the Bay water has living people particles in it.
[ Weiss's summaries of the research are slightly skewed. She doesn't quite understand the science, getting summaries of it resulted in her own interpretations. ]
[Where the fuck did she come from that bodies vanishing were normal? That shouldn't be physically possible! Then again neither should coming back to life at all so he'll let it slide. Though he does have to wonder what made the death mechanics here change all of a sudden since they apparently used to follow different rules.
That last bit, though.]
Hang on. What's this about the Bay and the us all being kids? [He's going to have to go back and scan the Bay later to see what his sensors pick up if there are life signs in it.] I'm no scientist, but I would like to know what the hell is going on around here.
Garrus, seriously? Go to Schnee Company. Tell them to fill you in on everything. It's like I made a huge center for all this and no one uses it but everyone wants to know the information that's right in front of them.
[ BOI. SHE IS NOT GONNA EXPLAIN YOU A THING WHEN YOU HAVE HAD FOREVER TO GO TO HER!! COMPANY!!! ]
...The Schnee Company has that kind of info? I thought it was just a "Welcome to Genessia" kind if thing. That's what you said in the intro video. Welcome and travel services, I think.
[This time his ignorance isn't his fault! He went by what the video told him (and never went there figuring he could get by).]
I had no way of knowing that we had that kind of intel. Been meaning to swing by the GRSF, but I wasn't fully sure what I was looking for and like I said, not sure if I'm even supposed to know this. I could be putting you at risk just telling you. If I go down there and start asking questions, they'll ask them right back. Science types always do.
I mean, they know anything the GSRF announces. They offer information, often things that people ask upon arrival, like "what are we doing here"? I founded both of them, if you think I wasn't going to utilize the resources to get information more widely spread, you're sorely mistaken.
[ But Weiss rolls her eyes at Garrus's complaint. ]
The GSRF's purpose it to find out information about this place. If we aren't finding out things we aren't supposed to know, we aren't doing our jobs correctly. Science types always ask questions, that's why they're the ones I'm relying on for assistance.
I never said them questioning was a bad thing. It’s just, in this particular case? I thought I should come to you first. It’s great that some stuff can be out in the open - I’ll make sure to swing by the Schnee Company at some point - but this stuff? Those - things? I’m not so sure we should be shouting that from the rooftops. If you think it’s safe to tell the GRSF then I’ll leave that to you; that’s not my place to order about anyway. Just… think about it before you do.
[Because if anything happens to them as a result? That blood’s on his hands as as he’s concerned.]
And maybe make sure they don’t go telling their friends about it. Last thing we need is someone going trigger happy to see if it’s true.
