As with everything, practicing first is safer than just going at it.
I heard from one of my family's chefs once that farms that sell to certain specialty restaurants will feed their livestock specific foods while their alive to help improve the flavor for the table. I'm not livestock, but maybe that means my blood will taste sweet like fruit since you and I probably eat more of it than most people.
[ She's trying to make it sound less gross. She's like 900% sure that if she was the one who had to drink blood she'd be grossed out. ]
You seriously can't walk to the kitchen and get one yourself??
[ She rolls her eyes, but she'll go to the kitchen. She just went to the farmer's market that morning, hence the fresh grapes. She grabs the honeydew from the kitchen, almost slices it, then decides she's probably better off just leaving it whole and ends up carrying the whole thing to Sun's room. ]
It's open! [He calls out to her. It's not like he's incident in his room or anything either. He didn't think Weiss really needed to announce herself, but he figured she was just doing it to be polite.]
[ Look, she doesn't know what vampires get up to. He could be doing some weird vampire thing.
Though to be fair, it looks like she barely waited for him to answer to turn the knob anyway. She came in holding the melon and walked over to him, setting the melon on the bed next to him and tilting her head slightly, her ponytail falling over her shoulder, leaving her neck unintentionally exposed. ]
Have you seriously just been lying here all day and night?
[He felt like he could very nearly hear the blood pumping through her veins. His eyes linger on her neck for a moment or too.]
Yeah. I don't have much energy to do anything else. [Vampires live on blood. It's like trying to be active after having not eaten or drank anything for over 24 hours.]
[He pulls himself up with her help, though he still feels so sluggish right now. He wondered if he could have mustered up the energy to get up himself if she told him he could drink from her right now.]
I have no idea. But I don't plan to take too much. [Which might not seem the most reassuring, but he'd rather starve to death than do anything to really bring Weiss harm.
He leans closer to the fruit and bares his fangs before sinking it into the melon as carefully as he can and drinks slowly, imaging it to be Weiss.]
[ Weiss held the fruit while he drank, her eyes glued to his mouth and the surface of the fruit. Her heart was pounding more heavily from nerves. It was hard to stay calm when you were going to intentionally let someone consume a part of you, even if you trusted them not to hurt you. Even the feeling of her neck being pierced would probably be a lot less than Sun starving while laying around like a bump on a log when he was usually so vibrant. It wasn't like he would take more than he needed on purpose, though. It was just a real question of how much he actually needed. If he went too far on accident, Weiss might not be conscious enough to reactivate her aura.
But that was why he was practicing first. Maybe they should've used a different fruit than a melon. Melons had tougher skin than Weiss did. She'd picked it because melons had a lot of water content close the surface of the skin, but... Weiss gives him a measuring look, like she's trying to figure out whether he's doing it right or not. Honestly, she doesn't know. ]
It looks like you're handling this okay. Can you tell how much you drank?
Edited (i did the previous version on my phone while half asleep, i'm fixing it) 2016-10-23 19:10 (UTC)
I think I drank most of the juice in there. [It didn't taste particularly great and wasn't filling at all. Which is sad for so many reasons.] But that's because it was safe to. I know I can't do that with you.
If I do do it to you, just tell me if you think I am taking to much. Or use your glyphs to launch me if I don't stop.
[ She's kind of wondering if that'd make it easier to make dehydrated honeydew since he just got the juice out. They can find out later. ]
You'll stop if I ask you to, Sun. I trust you. Just.. go slowly. If you go too fast you're not going to realize when you're full just like with normal food, I'd assume. I still need some blood to function.
I will. The last thing I want to do is hurt you or leave you in a bad state. I'm pretty sure I'd never hear the end of it from you if I did, anyway. I think starving to death would be a better fate than that.
I'd move into your room just so I could lecture you about it for longer hours. [ She's joking, probably. But a little more realistically.. ] Who knows how long this is going to last? I'm going to feel a little more confident about doing it more than once if you don't put me in the hospital the first time.
[ Okay. Weiss scoots a little bit closer, sliding her jacket off of her shoulders to reveal a sleeveless top. ]
I won't. [Something in his mind is urging him not to spill a single drop just because it's going to taste good. He swallows hard and leans close, bringing his lips to her neck, naturally knowing exactly where he needs to bite.
He opens his mouth, causing his lips to brush slightly against the side of her neck in the process. Typically, she would feel his breath kissing against the side of her neck, but he didn't even have to breathe while he was like this. He's about to bite, but he stops himself so he could speak instead.] Let me know when you are ready. I'll do it as soon as you say the word.
[He says this while moving his arms around her and pulling her a little closer, just because it felt like it might be easier to hold her and do this.]
Unless you're going to take me to dinner first you'd better stop kissing my neck and bite me, Sun.
[ She had been braced for him to bite her right then, only feeling his lips touching her was almost startling. It was much gentler than the slight pain she was expecting from being bit. That was one of the few types of pain she hadn't faced yet. The way he was holding her was more intimate than she expected too, though it was oddly comforting. Even if she knew it was probably just because it would be uncomfortable to try to do this without touching her at all, there was a faint blush on her cheeks and ears that sharply contrasted her tone. Weiss kept one hand on the bed for now, the other one going to rest on Sun's shoulder opposite the side of her neck he was on. ]
[The entire thing is intimate. Really, more so than anything Sun has had in years. Not since Blake has he had any level of intimacy with anyone. She was giving up what was essentially some of her life force just for him, and that meant a lot.
He drew, sucked on the side of her neck slowly to drink down her blood. When the first drop had hit his tongue, the urge to suck harder had hit him, but he fought it off. No, he needed to do this slowly and carefully to ensure her safety.
He closes his eyes and forces himself to relax some while he does. His body is being invigorated, more so than he had been in days. It felt good, that much he couldn't deny.]
[ As soon as his teeth pierced her skin, the hand Weiss had on the bed jumped up to hold onto the back of Sun's shirt. Her heart raced the first few seconds after he had bared down on her, probably making it easier to draw blood. After that, the pain from the puncture seemed to fade. It was very quick, and Weiss had to fight her instincts to activate her aura for the time being- but even without it, she felt a warmth flowing around the area. Her blood drawing to the surface by Sun's mouth, still surprisingly warm for someone who qualified as undead, felt different than she had predicted it would. Once she realized that it didn't really seem to hurt, Weiss relaxed in his arms. Her hands stayed on his back and shoulder, but were now more holding onto him than bracing herself. The ice queen stayed put, letting Sun suck and lap at her for some time until she started to feel light-headed, the only noise being her steady breathing and the occasional gasp at a renewed suck. ]
[It took a lot of willpower to make himself stop, but when he heard those words, he did. He pulled back from her neck and away from the neck wound. He slowly ran his tongue over his lips and across his fangs, getting off any little excess of blood that might be on there. She tasted far better than she had any right to.
He wanted to latch back on and continue drinking, but that was a terrible idea. He felt better, though. He wasn't full, at least he didn't feel like he was, but he also wasn't deeply hungry anymore. He could feel the warmth of her blood inside of her. He exhales softly to as a way to get himself to relax and he opens his eyes back up.]
[ Weiss's eyes meet his when he pulls back. Her lips are parted and her face is flushed, though she was too pale to begin with to really see much of a difference in her pallor. She gives him a little smile. ]
Told you I wouldn't have to use my glyphs. You can have more later once I recover a little.
But you could. Even with me tasting as amazing as I do. [ That's not what he said Weiss. Weiss seems to start up a little when she realizes she's sort of still holding onto him even if he backed up, pulling her hands back and folding them in her lap. ]
It didn't hurt much after the bite was over. I mean, it's starting to feel a little sore now, but while it was happening it mostly felt really.. warm.
[ She meant to tell him that he doesn't need to worry about her since he did a good job, but it honestly just sounded kind of embarrassing. The time between the bite and the light-headedness actually felt pretty good. Sun had been gentle his lips and tongue running across her neck, and the warmth was enjoyable. It was an odd sensation, especially to think about Sun doing to her.
Weiss takes a breath and reactivates her aura, the bite mark disappearing from her neck. The blood's still gone, but her flesh is repaired so at least she's not going to go around sporting a new scar. ]

Well you may want to sit up if you want a taste unless you plan on making a mess all over your bed.

Thanks. Think you can hand me the melon?

How much do you think you'll need to feel better?
[ Weiss suits down in the bed next to him and holds the melon up for him. ]
I suppose you just bite in and drink?
