Actually, I wasn't. I was speaking my mind on the subject itself. I made no mention of anyone who uses the ability, other than the one who raised those wyverns in Fayren.
[He knows he's not nearly as narrow-minded as Weiss seems to suggest. So he'll review his words and see how one might reach this conclusion.]
I can see I didn't make that clear at the time, so for that I apologize.
No, stating that people who have an ability should never use it because you don't like it in an environment where people like Ted actively rail against it and have outlawed it in the past is not "speaking your mind" on the subject. It's creating a discriminatory narrative. And if I happen to call out the entire group of people who have been doing that since I've arrived in Genessia because I'm sick of hearing the same thing over and over again so that I can explain a way it could be used in a positive way to help prepare us better for emergencies, that's not the same as declaring any use of necromancy as disrespectful, outright stating that you hate it, and also saying that you will stand against it as a whole.
[ Qubine wasn't the narrow-minded one, which is why she didn't call him out specifically. While his post may have prompted the action because she's sick of it, he's far from the only person who's told her that a part of who she is is wrong simply by nature. ]
Your words don't stand alone, Qubine. That's why I spoke out. If it was just about your and my conversation, I wouldn't have even mentioned it.
[He sighs inwardly. He still can't tell if she even understands his
point of view. But he didn't come to argue more about necromancy.]
Well, it's good to know that wasn't directed at me specifically...not that
I care either way. Continuing to argue the subject would just be repeating
myself at this point.
Perhaps I could change my mind if I had more positive experiences with it,
because so far I've had none. Unfortunately, I can't take you up on the
offer to practice fighting those spirits, because those...aren't something
that I can fight.
[As much as he loaths to admit it.]
Because physical contact with them is how they drain our emotions, and I
fight primarily with teeth and claws, and using nothing but my ice-based
abilities would only exhaust me.
[ Like that's exactly why she's offering, so people can learn in a safe environment that she can call them off before they get hurt. ]
We can experiment with some of the magics in Everglade too and try to see if there's some way we can come up with some spirit-repelling claw armor or poultices you could use. The whole point of offering training is to help people who can't fight them right now.
[It's not learning to fight that's the problem. But for him,
fighting would require physical contact, which would immediately spell the
end for him when fighting those spirits. He pauses at Weiss's suggestion,
though. Something like that would have been well beyond reach in
Sornieth.]
So I would need the proper equipment before I can begin to fight those
things. If they can provide something like that in Everglade, then I'll
take it.
Then I'd suggest taking a trip over there to see if what you can find. I have no doubt they can custom-fit whatever they have there anyway.
[ Or who knows what- either way, Weiss is offering training after he does that, but she doesn't want to hear about people being helpless when they haven't looked for alternatives. ]
I.. honestly don't go into Everglade very much. Guardian Sutcliff has made it very clear that she doesn't like me and I've been trying not to upset her too much to keep things civil.

Normally I would say yes.

[He rolls his eyes slightly, but his icy eye color makes it hard to see. So much for the "we" factor...]
All right... Would you happen to know anyone in particular I should look for in Everglade?

Re: [Video]
[He twists his mouth.] I can't imagine why... [Shrug.] Oh well, no matter. I'll just take another trip to Everglade.
