This might seem weird, but I thought I would ask anyway.

But do you like cake?

I suppose so, as long as it doesn't have too much icing. I prefer cakes with fruit and cream rather than frosting.

So something close to a fruit cake?

No one likes fruit cake. I like cake with fruit.

Fruit cake has fruit with it though. Logically it makes sense.

Fruit cake has candied fruit in it, which has been processed so much it no longer actually tastes like fruit and it won't go bad even if you leave it out for a year. There's a huge difference.
