Nnnnnnope. I don't need some fancy party celebrating the fact that I lived another year, and I sure as hell don't need everyone pretending to fawn over me. Hard no, pass, whatever. Count me out.
[ Seriously, he doesn't even know how to handle getting minimal gifts around the holidays when everyone is getting them. The fuck is he supposed to do with a birthday. ]
You keep doing favors for me. I keep waiting for the other shoe to fall.

Any rescue I'm a part of is going to involve breaking in through a window. Very theatric.
[ It wasn't a no. ]
Should I openly announce how thankful I am for this generous influx of free Schnee-brand dust products?

Well, now it feels like if I don't do it I'm chickening out. Can't have that.
[ ... ]
When the hell is your birthday, anyway?

If you hadn't seen them, you wouldn't have any idea what I was talking about~
[Yang looks smug. Her puns are still better than your puns, Weiss, neener.]
Yeah, he showed them to me after offering to do maintenance on my arm. And he didn't even ask for anything in return except to not get punched with it. It's seriously weirding me out, he seemed...I don't know...nice!
[She sighs, dropping her head and rubbing the back of her neck.]
It's like being in some weird alternate dimension. Does he act this way to everyone else?

If you do I'll just break the window and not offer a rescue. Your birthday gift will be a roomful of glass.
[ He already said he'd do it geeze! ]
I'll try not to forget.

Don't say that like you want me to one-up it. I'm sure I could find a way if that's what you want.
[ weiss do not engage DO NOT ENGAGE ]
Wind is my go-to. Don't really use much else.

You're no fun.
[ If he is seriously getting permission to ruin a perfectly good time for everyone else present, he's taking it. ]
Powder. Crystal can work too, but powder gets more mileage with these prosthetics.

[Then he's not just trying to get on Yang's good side so she won't warn the world of what he did to Beacon if other people are getting the same deal.]
...Do you think he's been replaced by a pod person?
[Okay, okay, so he's different. This is going to take a lot of adjusting on Yang's part, she's sure of that.]
Well...what can I say? Good for him. I hope he really means it this time.

That's...oddly symbolic.
[Is she going to have nightmares about Super Happy Neighbor Mercury popping up in her window with a fresh-baked pie and offers of eternal friendship?]
[SHE MIGHT.]
[But...he really wasn't as terrible as she thought he'd be, and she's still trying to wrap her head around that.]
...What was his Best Part like?

...Pyrrha's here...?
[That's one way to snap Yang out of her melodramatic turmoil. She'd just shouted at Mercury that the people who died that night in Beacon were gone for good, and weren't ever coming back.]
[But that's not true in this place, is it? She swallows past the tightness in her throat.]
Does she know?
[About what should be more than obvious.]

[If Pyrrha of all people is willing to work with Mercury, does Yang really have any reason to keep holding a grudge? The redhead is better than all of them. She sighs, and smiles quietly to herself as she quickly wipes away a little dampness from her eyes.]
I'm glad she's okay here.
[Yang clears her throat.]
Guess I can't keep going and being mad at Mercury for what happened to her, then, can I?

[Qubine had seen Weiss's announcement, but had decided to hang back for a few days after their argument (not to mention he spent about three days at the Dream Docks). After all, he'd already made his opinion of necromancy clear, so he had no need to repeat himself. But something about her announcement didn't sit well with him, and it wasn't the talk of raising spirits.]
...I'm curious about something. After you told me that it was wrong to publicly shame people on the network, I couldn't help noticing that you immediately turned around and did it yourself.
[He'll just leave it at that for the moment and see what she has to say for herself.]

Actually, I wasn't. I was speaking my mind on the subject itself. I made no mention of anyone who uses the ability, other than the one who raised those wyverns in Fayren.
[He knows he's not nearly as narrow-minded as Weiss seems to suggest. So he'll review his words and see how one might reach this conclusion.]
I can see I didn't make that clear at the time, so for that I apologize.
