So something close to a fruit cake?

No one likes fruit cake. I like cake with fruit.

Fruit cake has fruit with it though. Logically it makes sense.

Fruit cake has candied fruit in it, which has been processed so much it no longer actually tastes like fruit and it won't go bad even if you leave it out for a year. There's a huge difference.

Guess I just make them differently.

[ Word got around fast regarding the events around this place, and so when something regarding her little sister had popped up? Well. Sitting around idly was not something she wanted to be doing, when she could be speaking with Weiss about it. ]

Weiss? It's me.

[ Pausing a bit, she almost felt bad for not showing her face but there was a reason for that. An obvious one that she'd never outright voice, however. ]

Let me know when you're not busy. It's... been a while and I would like to see how you are doing.

[ Big sis is concerned and worried about you, okay? ]

I'm.. I can make time. If I don't it'll probably never happen.

[ It's not that she wasn't swamped- she was, but it was mostly of her own doing. Swamping herself was a nice way to keep her mind off of things. It was only when she slowed down, when she tried to have fun that things caught up with her. More recently in a much more.. literal sense. If it's Winter, she'll find a way. ]

The last thing you need to be doing is over-working yourself, Weiss.

[ A subtle tone of exasperation lines her voice, though it still holds a fair bit of concern as well. She understands the importance of wanting to distract yourself. Very much so. ]

Would today or tomorrow afternoon work best for you?

I don't care, Winter. I want to work.

[ Exhausted means she can sleep at night, at least for a little while. ]

Today's fine. There's no crisis right now.

[ If this were any other time she might have possibly chastised her further for that, but opted only for a soft sigh. She'd drop it for now, but if it became a real problem then she'd address it properly. ]

Alright. Should you have any preference for where you'd like to go so we may talk, let me know.

[ Feeling like she's lost a bit of her usual bite is not the most exciting thing to accept, and while she's been healing up decently? It didn't change that some things were gone and she was accepting that reluctantly. ]

No.. public events, please. [ Like parties, movies, anything with larges numbers of people. The masquerade trauma kind of spent her on those for now. Which is unfortunate, considering she used to actually enjoy organizing things like that. ] Something quiet would be nice.

[ Considering what she'd caught wind of and what prompted her to actually message her little sister to start with? She never intended for anything public, thankfully. ]

Hm... would you be against coming to my apartment for a cup of tea, then? It's certainly quiet there and far from the public eye, and would just be the two of us.

[ It would end up being something like that time she'd last visited Weiss on Remnant, catching up with her and just having a one on one sisterly talk. Plus she wasn't fond on the idea of public locations right now either. ]

Weiss? I might've...run into something. That stops me from moving. Uhm. This is embarrassing.

[ There's just the vaguest hint of her 'Schnee Company conversation' false cheer, but that's more because she wants Winter to know she's going to be happy to see her. It's hard to sound like that earnestly right now, even if she wants to. ]

[ Jaune what. ]

I thought about what you said. About finding another weapon. I know you told me not to mess with Dust but I decided to try it anyway but I'm not strong like Yang so I can't...

How do I break the ice?

[ That subtle note of false cheer had NOT gotten past her one bit, but she chose not to press it for now. Weiss has been through a lot and despite her more zealous attitude to want to protect her dear little sister, she now knew better that there was other ways to do it other than be completely overbearing about it. ]

Then do come by in about an hour and you will find my door unlocked. It will give you enough time to finish anything you desire before coming here.

[ She's already sent off the address in a text promptly, sparing no time in this so there was no need to discuss that much, really. Same with how she seems all business but there was that underlying tone of concern for her sister there that never completely left when she spoke with her. ]

[ There's silence for a few moments on her end before she sighs. ]

What's around you that you can reach?

Uhhh...my phone? This tree. Do you want me to break the tree?

Winter, don't leave your door unlocked. I'm fully capable of knocking.

[ The last thing she wants is her sister to leave her home unsecured. After that little note she hangs up though, and she'll be there in about an hour. Knocking because that door had better be locked you boob. ]

I was hoping you had something with a sharp point. Something thin and sharp to put into the ice, then use the hole to wedge it open. Or something to melt it with, but given what you accidentally did with ice I'm not too keen to suggest you use red dust. Where are you?

[ She'll come save him. ]

I don't know if this will make you feel better or frustrate you more, but I didn't take any red dust. You know that place that serves really good waffles in Nova City? [He gives her the name.] I'm near there.

[ Though they're going to have a talk about why he chose ice to nearly kill himself with. ]
